I’ll be awake for it. If there’s one wrestler who can manage to make an impact on a WWE show despite not being around for over three years, it’s CM Punk. The man was one of the biggest stars in the company and had one of the best finishing moves in the company, but it’s not like he invented it.

What you might not know is that NXT’s Hideo Itami invented the Go to Sleep and popularized it in Japan. While Punk’s version is the more famous one here in America, Itami took a bit of a shot at him in a recent tweet as he talks about his upcoming “Takeover: Chicago” match with Bobby Roode for the NXT Title.

Opinion: Itami did indeed invent the move but it should be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to him using it. The Chicago crowd is certainly a smarky one and they would be likely to know that it’s Itami’s move but they would also seem to be likely to turn it into a Punk moment. Either way, Roode vs. Itami should be a great main event.

Do you think Itami wins the title? Whose GTS do you like better? Let us know in the comments below.
