The Rock to Run for President of the United States?

Despite the claim starting as a joke, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson seems to be considering a serious run for President of the United States. According to a recent interview in GQ Magazine, the wrestler-turned-A-list-actor first started contemplating the possibly about a year ago, not long after an article in The Washington Post made the claim that he’d be a viable candidate.

In the time since, The Rock has teased about running against John Cena, but his latest thoughts on the matter have taken a more serious turn. While he hasn’t revealed any specific platforms on which he’d run, Dwayne Johnson is a registered Independent, and has been previously associated with both the Democratic and Republican parties. This has prompted some to speculate that he might champion Libertarian ideals… but until more develops on this story, we’ll have to be content with the idea that our next president could wind up being a literal world champion.
