That’s some pretty high praise. There are very few wrestlers today as controversial as Brock Lesnar. He is one of those names who gets truly special treatment in WWE and that has caused some issues for fans, as Lesnar is not around very often and usually has one of the World Titles with him. However, you can’t argue with his success and a fellow legend thinks a lot of Lesnar.

While Lesnar is certainly high up on the list of controversial wrestlers, John Cena may be even higher. A lot of fans did not think much of Cena during his time on top of WWE, but there is no way to deny that he was a huge star and one of the most successful of all time. With that being said, Cena certainly seems to approve of Lesnar, maybe even at a level that will surprise you.

Cena was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated, during which he called Lesnar the greatest in-ring performer of all time. Citing Lesnar’s performance in this year’s Royal Rumble, Cena said that he had never seen anyone who could establish himself, a title and his opponents all at the same time as Lesnar did in less than thirty minutes. Cena also praised Lesnar’s mystique and how much drama Lesnar created during the match.

Lesnar was a force in the Royal Rumble. Check out how he did:

Opinion: I’m not sure if I can agree with what Cena says here as Lesnar was indeed dominant, but the amount of time that he spends away from the ring and how repetitive things he does can hurt him. It does work well when he is around, but there are so few times when he gets to do his thing that it isn’t as impactful. I’m just a bit tired of him after all these years of something similar and it’s becoming a problem.
