And Gone: WWE Reportedly Making “Mass Releases” At Headquarters, On One-Screen Talent Confirms Release

Farewell. There have been several changes to WWE in recent months, mainly due to the company being sold to Endeavor. As a result, there have been several releases and firings from the company. This includes on-screen performers and behind the scenes workers, which have happened multiple times. Now it seems that both of them might be happening again.

There are reports of both on-screen and behind the scenes releases on Friday. First, NXT interviewer McKenzie Mitchell has announced that she has bee released from WWE. So far, this is the only on-screen release announced so far. In addition, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics is reporting that there are “mass” layoffs taking place at WWE headquarters. It is not clear how many layoffs are taking place.

WWE has laid off more corporate employees today, according to multiple people at the company.

This follows layoffs of more than 100 employees in September following the closing of the TKO merger.

Opinion: This is never good to hear and hopefully several more wrestlers are not going to be released at the same time. It’s sad to see all of these people being let go from the company, especially when Mitchell was quite good at what she was doing. At the same time, it might be due to having Kelly Kincaid likely to fill in the same role. In addition to that, hopefully everyone released at the headquarters can find somewhere else to go, as that might not be the easiest thing to make happen.
