Dream Come True? WWE Reportedly Hopeful About CM Punk vs. Steve Austin Taking Place

That would be a big one. There are certain pairings in wrestling that feel like natural combinations. Occasionally you will see two wrestlers who have a natural connection or rivalry, which makes you want to see them interact with each other. It can be a special moment when you get to see them get together and now we might be seeing one of the all time imagined pairings.

According to Fightful Select, there are people in WWE who are pushing for a CM Punk vs. Steve Austin match, with Punk even having discussions about the match. Some people in WWE are said to be “optimistic” about the match possibly taking place, though it is hard to care how far the planning has gone. If things go well, Punk would soon be going to see Austin in person to pitch the match. Austin returned to the ring at WrestleMania 38 and is reportedly willing to open to a potential match under the right circumstances. There is no word on how interested Austin might be in facing Punk.

Opinion: This is one of those things that could actually happen and that makes things all the more interesting. The fact that Punk is back in WWE is interesting enough and now the question is about what he does next. Seeing Punk vs. Austin is about as natural of a pairing as you can get and a good number of fans would probably love to see it happen on one of the grandest stages of them all.
