He’s getting ready. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler as you never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and be put on the shelf. That can lead to a wrestler taking some time to get ready to return to the ring and it is a big deal when they get back. That might be the case sooner rather than later for one of the biggest stars going today.

Earlier this month, Santos Escobar turned on Rey Mysterio on SmackDown, injuring Mysterio’s knee in the process. During his time away, Mysterio has undergone surgery to repair a torn meniscus and has not wrestled since. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mysterio is targeting a return in two to four weeks, putting him back in mid to late January. There is no word on how WWE will have Mysterio return.

Opinion: That is great to hear as Mysterio is hopefully going to be back in the ring sooner than later. He is one of the best ever and it is a shame to have him on the shelf for so long. Mysterio can still do a lot of things and is still one of the better stars on the roster when he is active. Throw in a ready to go feud with Escobar and things should be going well when he returns to the ring.
