Father Time is undefeated. Back in 2017, Kurt Angle made a fairly surprising return to WWE after over ten years away. Angle was the headliner of that year’s Hall of Fame class, but since it’s Angle, you knew he wasn’t going to be able to stay away from the ring for that long. Since then Angle has wrestled here and there, but it hasn’t always been pretty. As it turns out, things are about to change again.

According to Brad Shepard on the Oh. You Didn’t Know podcast, Angle’s upcoming match at WrestleMania 35 may be the last match of his career. Angle has teased retirement before, including during this run in WWE, as a variety of injuries and age have caught up with him. At the moment, Angle does not have an opponent scheduled or rumored for the show, though he has recently been feuding with Baron Corbin.

Let’s go with some of the better times. Check out your Olympic hero vs. a debuting John Cena:

A debuting John Cena accepts Kurt Angle's open challenge: SmackDown, June 27, 2002

Opinion: I respect the heck out of him, but this needed to be the case several years ago. Angle is fifty years old and has wrecked his body over the course of nearly twenty year professional career, after spending several more years as an amateur wrestling legend. His career needed to be over a long time ago and while he deserves to go out on a big stage, it’s long overdue.

How great is Angle? What should happen in his final match? Let us know in the comments below.
