Maybe we’ll come back to Japan. Nearly the entire world, including the professional wrestling world, is in a shutdown at the moment due to the spread of the Coronavirus. With the disease making its way around the world, there are only so many things that can be done at once. That includes making some major wrestling decisions, something which WWE may be learning all over again.

One thing that WWE loves to do is expand. While they are already the biggest wrestling company in the world, there are several other markets that they are trying to reach. One of these is Japan, which is one of the biggest wrestling areas in the world. WWE would love to get their foot in there, but it has not been the easiest move to make. Now, things might get even more difficult.

According to Tokyo Sports and with a translation from 411mania.com, WWE is not likely to be able to start a new NXT territory in Japan due to the financial problems caused by the Coronavirus. WWE has attempted to purchase various promotions to be used as the start of their NXT Japan but they have not been able to complete any deals, including an attempt at Pro Wrestling NOAH.

WWE has been in Japan before. Check out some of their adventures in the country:

Opinion: I’m not sure what this is going to mean for WWE, but at the same time, how much do they need a Japanese territory? They already have the UK show and it is hardly a top priority. Something over in Japan would probably be their new toy for a few minutes and they would hire some big names, but it would ultimately wind up being little more than another thing that they have.
