You have to make cuts somewhere. Earlier this month, WWE went on the biggest roster purge in their history, letting go dozens on on-screen wrestlers and even more people from different parts of the company. It was a brutal day for the roster as the company let go so many people. There was one major place that was barely touched, but its time might be coming up soon.

WWE operates in a lot of places around the world. While their main operations are of course in the United States, there is also a wing over in the United Kingdom under the NXT banner. NXT UK has been around for a little over a year and a half now and the show is starting to do some good things. However, it might not have much more time to make things work in the future.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the future of the NXT UK brand is up in the air. The brand is losing money and since the World of Sport promotion, which was the reason NXT UK was created in the first place, has been canceled for over a year, one of the main reasons for the promotion to exist is gone. NXT UK has run out of first run television content and has been running Best Of shows for several weeks.

There is some good stuff to be seen here. Check out some of the better parts of NXT UK:

Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised by this as there isn’t much of a need for the promotion to be around. It has been a perfectly fine show and their Takeovers have been rather good, but with WWE producing so much other content, I’m not sure how necessary it really is. Then again, WWE doesn’t exactly like the idea of letting anything go and I can’t imagine them cutting an entire TV show when it gives the WWE Network original bonus content.

Do you think NXT UK will be closed down? Who would you like to see come over to the main roster? Let us know in the comments below.
