Welcome back. There have been all kinds of stories around the wrestling world this year and very few of them have been positive. WWE has been through a lot of trouble of their own and some of it has been brought on themselves. One of the biggest stories that made WWE look a little less flattering was the company releasing dozens of talents within a few days. They also released some backstage workers, but at least one of them is now back.
A backstage producer is one of the most important parts of any wrestling shows. They are in charge of making a match play out as planned by talking to the wrestlers and figuring out what they need to do. A good producer can make things a lot better and someone who has figured out the right kind of style for various wrestlers is incredibly valuable. Now one of the recently released WWE producers is back at work.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE backstage producer Billy Kidman returned to work for WWE at this week’s SmackDown taping. There is no word on why Kidman was brought back or whether or not more producers will return to work in the future. Kidman was furloughed in April after working as a producer since 2010. WWE has not been running live events during the Coronavirus pandemic, meaning there has been no reason to have as many producers.
You might not remember Kidman’s in-ring career. Check out some of his WWE efforts:
Opinion: I’m not sure why Kidman was brought back but at least he is back at work after several months away. There is no way of telling how long it is going to be before WWE is back to normal and it might be even longer before the producers are back either. Hopefully the company gets back to normal sooner rather than later, as there are a lot of people out of work as a result. Good for Kidman though, and hopefully it is a positive sign for the future.
