You have to fill it out somehow. There are a lot of different ways to push a wrestler to a higher level and a title reign is near the top. It’s as simple of a concept as you can have in wrestling: fans care about wrestlers who have titles. They signify that someone is a top level star, or at least an important one. It gets people more attention and that is going to be the case with the newest title.
AEW has all kinds of talented wrestlers around the company and that is the kind of thing that can add a lot to their overall presentation. Sometimes you need something other than the World Title to fight over and having an extra championship around could add an extra layer to their feuds. That is the kind of thing you can always use and AEW is doing something just like that at the moment.
This week on AEW Dynamite, the second half of the TNT Title tournament was unveiled. In addition to the previous matches announced, the following matches will be taking place:
Darby Allin
Dustin Rhodes
Lance Archer
Colt Cabana
This comes after the first half of the brackets were announced on this week’s edition of AEW Dark. The first round of the tournament will begin on the April 8 edition of Dynamite with the first champion being crowned on May 23 at Double Or Nothing. The show is currently scheduled to take place, though there is still the chance that it could be canceled due to the Coronavirus.
There are some potential winners in here. Check out this side of the bracket in action:
Opinion: There are a lot of potential winners to this tournament and that could make for some interesting combinations. You really could see a lot of people winning the entire thing so hopefully they go with some of their better options. That’s the sign of a good tournament: there is no clear winner and you want to watch the matches to see where everything goes. Now just go and execute it.
