This could be a big problem. The spread of the Coronavirus, as well as the various government responses to it, have caused a lot of trouble for the wrestling world. Since fans are not allowed to attend most shows, a lot of the scheduled events have been canceled as a result. WWE and AEW have been able to hang in there due to having their own facilities, but that might not be the case any longer.
One of the biggest problems for the wrestling industry has been local and state governments banning gatherings of more than a certain number of people in one place. Florida has had such bans, but WWE has been able to get around it by having a limited amount of people in the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida at the same time. However, things are starting to change.
According to Carlos Suarez of NBC 6 in Miami, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a “safer at home” order, requiring people to stay at home for thirty days. The order will go into place starting Thursday night at midnight. There will be exceptions to the order which will be specified, though it is not clear if WWE will still be allowed to present their events. WWE has events taped up through April 9. It is not clear if WWE would try to air their events somewhere else.
#BREAKING @NBC6 The governor is issuing a statewide ‘stay at home’ order. It will go into effect at midnight tomorrow. The order will have exceptions. We can expect the details of it later today.

WWE has been to some strange places before. Check out some of their unique locations:
Opinion: This is one of those things that you had to know was coming sooner or later and the question now is what WWE can do to move forward. They are going to be safe for the first week of the lock down so really they have to survive three weeks (assuming the order is not extended) rather than a full month. Maybe they can go somewhere else for the events, though it might not make for the easiest travel situation. This is hardly a surprise, so hopefully WWE has a backup plan in place.
What does this mean for WWE? How will they keep running television? Let us know in the comments below.
