They don’t have much time left. We are less than a week away from WrestleMania 36 and in this case, we are in for a very unique show. The event has already been taped in advance, meaning that WWE knows exactly what is going to happen before the rest of us. That can make for a positive situation, but not everything will be a good thing. WWE had to address a negative situation this week.
While the wrestling world has been turned upside down by the Coronavirus, there are other things going on at the same time. Since wrestling is a physical sport, there is always the chance that someone could get injured as they would in any given match. That was the case last week and it was going to change a WrestleMania match. Now, WWE has covered the news.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Zelina Vega announced that United States Champion Andrade had suffered a rib injury, forcing him to miss WrestleMania. Andrade was scheduled to team with Angel Garza to challenge the Street Profits for the Raw Tag Team Titles. As a result, he would be replaced by NXT star Austin Theory in his main roster debut. Theory and Garza teamed with Seth Rollins in a loss to Kevin Owens and the Street Profits on Monday.
They had some potential. Check out Garza and Andrade plus Theory in action:
Opinion: I know it’s a pretty random team but it’s not like Andrade and Garza were a big team in the first place. This is clearly the AOP’s spot and there is nothing wrong with giving someone like Theory a shot. It’s not like this is anything more than a placeholder spot but it’s very cool to see Theory, who has a lot of potential, getting this kind of a chance. When WWE has such a deep talent pool, it is quite the nod to get a chance like this. Hopefully it works.
