There’s your big one. AEW has not been around very long compared to some of the other major American wrestling companies but they have built up a rather nice reputation in the time being. One of their best areas is on pay per view, where they have gotten things going in a great way. It is rare for an AEW pay per view to be anything less than great and that might be the case again next month, as Revolution just got another huge match.
Since its inception, AEW has put a focus on its tag team division. The division has become one of the most consistent parts of the company with a host of teams lining the roster. Some of them are of course better than others and that includes the reigning Tag Team Champions, the Young Bucks. Now they have a brand new team challenging them, with the title shot coming on pay per view.
This week on AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho and Maxwell Jacob Friedman won a tag team battle royal to become the new #1 contenders to the Tag Team Titles. Their shot will come at Revolution on March 7 and will be their first chance at the championships. The match featured ten teams with Jericho and Friedman last eliminating Top Flight to win. The Young Bucks were in the match as well and would have been able to choose their own opponents had they won.
Opinion: This is the kind of match that will build up Revolution rather well and that’s all it needs to be. Jericho and Friedman are the new official Inner Circle tag team and they have been talking about going after the titles. I’m not sure I can imagine the titles changing hands, but Jericho and Friedman are the kinds of guys who could give the Bucks a run for their money, at least for one night.
