This is filling up quick. We’re less than four weeks away from the Royal Rumble and in less than thirty hours, we’ve gone from two names confirmed all the way to eight. That’s nearly a third of the field filled in already and for the first time, we have a “Smackdown Live” name on the list as someone from the blue show put their name into the hat.

On “Smackdown Live”, Baron Corbin interrupted a contract signing between John Cena and AJ Styles for their Smackdown World Title match to say he was facing the winner at “Wrestlemania XXXIII”.

This makes him the sixth entrant announced this week alone. Corbin made his main roster debut by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal back at “Wrestlemania XXXII”. His statement would indicate that the winner of the Royal Rumble will have to face their own brand’s respective champion but it’s not quite clear.

I’m not sure if it’s just the way the Royal Rumble is setting up this year but I wouldn’t be stunned to see Corbin make a real run in this thing. He’s being treated as a big deal in the last few weeks and has a lot of momentum, though I’m not sure WWE is ready to pull the trigger on someone like that. All Corbin needs is a good run and he’ll be just fine, especially if he gets a big match at “Wrestlemania XXXIII”.

How far do you think Corbin can make it in the Royal Rumble? Who do you think wins the match? Let us know in the comments below.
