Twas beauty that slayed the beast? Monsters have been a thing in wrestling since before anyone can remember and it is an idea that makes a lot of sense. If the visuals are done right, you don’t need any major explanation. All you have to do is look at the hero against the monster and you instantly get the core idea of the story. There are still monsters around today, and now one of them might have a weakness.
Starting last year, Bray Wyatt unleashed the Fiend on WWE. As a result, WWE has been in trouble ever since, as the Fiend has gone on to become a two time Universal Champion and showed very few weaknesses alone the way. The Fiend is the definition of a monster and someone that could be a problem for a long time to come. Like any monster though, he is going to have a weak spot and now we might know what that is.
We have his attention. Check out what shook the Fiend:
This week on Monday Night Raw, the Fiend confronted Randy Orton, who was holding Alexa Bliss. The Fiend appeared scared by the situation and nearly begged Orton to return Bliss to her. Commentary made a point to acknowledge the Fiend’s actions, suggesting that Bliss could be a weak spot for him. Bliss and Fiend have been paired together since October, when Bliss came under his power.
Opinion: That’s certainly a way to go, though I really hope this isn’t the beginning of the end for the Fiend. The character is something that could go on for a long time to come and while he has already lost a few matches, it does not need to be the end for him. Let Fiend see what else he can do, even if he has a weak spot. I’m curious about the idea, but almost scared of WWE ending him too early.
What do you think of Fiend? How will the Bliss aspect change things? Let us know in the comments below.
