So much for that. With so many names on the WWE roster, it can be easy to forget that someone is around every now and then. Sometimes a wrestler is just not going to make the biggest impact and that can get a little annoying in a hurry. At the end of the day, there is only so much space in WWE and sometimes they are going to have to downsize a bit, which was the case again this week.
One of the better ways to make a villain look good is to give him some goons or lackeys to do his bidding for him. A lot of the time these people will be little more than glorified bodyguards but they serve a fine purpose by taking some of the pressure of of whomever they are working for. WWE introduced some of them for a certain villain last year but now one of them is gone.
WWE has announced the release of Steve Cutler from the company. There is no word on why Cutler was released. Cutler had been teaming with Wesley Blake as part of the Knights Of The Lone Wolf and served as King Corbin’s enforcers. This came after the two of them had been part of the Forgotten Sons with Jaxson Ryker but were taken off of television for months after Ryker made some comments on Twitter last spring.
Opinion: This is a bit of a surprise and raises a few questions. In addition to wondering what made WWE change their mind and go from giving Cutler something to do to releasing him so fast, I wonder if this is going to be the first of several upcoming releases. Hopefully that is not the case, but it would not exactly be shocking as the company does have a history of doing these things in bunches.
