One more round. AEW Dynamite debuted in 2019 and instantly became one of the biggest wrestling shows in the world. Save for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, nothing was standing in the show’s way and its reputation has grown since. WWE attempted to counter program with NXT but things did not go so well. NXT has since moved to Tuesday nights, but now things are shifting back, at least for one night.
In October, AEW Dynamite will be moved due to TBS’s coverage of the Major League Baseball Playoffs. Therefore, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, the Tuesday October 18 edition of Dynamite will be airing head to head with NXT. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that this will be anything more than a one week event, though AEW may have to be changed due to additional coverage, depending on how the playoffs go.
Opinion: This is one of those things that is going to make for an interesting week as you can all but guarantee a stacked card for both shows. Neither AEW nor NXT are going to want to be humiliated or come close to having a bad number that night and as a result we are probably going to be seeing some special cards. That is good for the fans, assuming your DVR is set.
