They have options. With so many wrestling shows taking place over the course of a year, it can be helpful to add a little something to some of them. Sometimes you need to spice things up a bit and one of the best ways to do just that is to have a new twist put onto the match. This is called a gimmick, and later this month, you might be seeing some rather different versions.
NXT just got done with its Takeover: 31 special but they are not slowing down so soon after. Instead, they are charging towards Halloween Havoc on October 28. The show is a flashback to one of WCW’s better known pay per views and the first edition of the show in about twenty years. NXT has stacked the show with some big matches, and two of them will be tributes to the original Halloween Havoc pay per views. Now we know a bit more about what we can expect.
This week on NXT, Halloween Havoc host Shotzi Blackheart announced that Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal will be returning for the upcoming special. There will be twelve gimmicks put onto a wheel, which will be spun around. Whatever the wheel lands on will be the match’s stipulation. Here are the options that appeared on the wheel during the reveal on NXT:
Biker’s Chain Match
Blindfold Match
Boiler Room Brawl
Buried Alive Match
Casket Match
Chamber of Horrors Match
Coal Miner’s Glove on a Pole Match.
Devil’s Playground Match
Shotzi’s Choice Match
TLS
Trick or Street Fight
Weapons Wild Match
The two matches scheduled to use Spin The Wheel Make The Deal are Candice LeRae challenging Io Shirai for the Women’s Title and Johnny Gargano challenging Damian Priest for the North American Title.
They seem ready. Check out what could be coming:
Opinion: I loved this idea when I was younger and it still sounds great today. There is something rather intriguing about not knowing what you are going to see in such a big match and that makes it all the more exciting. Some of the options on there are rather interesting and hopefully we get to see something cool out of the whole situation. The Chamber of Horrors sounds fun if nothing else.
