And that’s how it’s all wrapping up. This is the biggest wrestling weekend of the year and as usual, WWE gets the last show with the post WrestleMania 35 episode of SmackDown Live. That can mean a lot of things, though there wasn’t a lot going on with this week’s show. As you might expect though, there was more going on than just what you saw on TV with a pair of dark matches.
There was a dark match both before and after this week’s SmackDown Live with the match before the taping seeing a storyline change. According to Wrestlinginc.com, the first dark match saw Luke Harper defeat EC3. This is noteworthy as EC3 debuted Drake Maverick as his new manager. Maverick is also currently managing Rezar, who is only appearing on Main Event as Akam is recovering from a knee injury. After the show was over, Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn in a match you can see below in full.
I’m not sure how much he needs help with the talking. Check out the debut of EC3’s new manager:
And the entire Zayn vs. Owens match. Check out the full match:
Opinion: These aren’t the most exciting developments, but at the same time I could go for EC3 getting a new manager over how little happened on SmackDown Live. That being said, going with that kind of a way to end the entire weekend, and making fans sit through 205 Live to see a match that lasts eight seconds is a rather lame way to wrap up the evening. How many fans will have that bad taste in their mouth to end their experience?
Which of these was a better moment? Does EC3 need a manager? Let us know in the comments below.
