What could have been. There are all kinds of stories in WWE and some of them do not go according to the original plans. You can occasionally tell that things are not exactly what was originally in the cards as the story might not line up as planned. It seems that was the situation last year, with a storyline that we are still experiencing more than a year after the plans changed.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Monday Night Raw Could Be In For A Huge, First Time Ever Change
Adam Copeland, formerly known as Edge in WWE, was a guest on a recent edition of Talk Is Jericho. Copeland talked about the original plans for the Judgment Day, the stable he founded in 2022. The original plan would have called for Finn Balor to join the team the night after Hell In A Cell 2022 and then turn on Copeland about a year later. Instead, Balor turned on him that same night, setting up their feud. Copeland said he then realized that the story was not going to get where it was supposed to with him involved.
The team had its moments. Check out the two of them, plus Copeland vs. Balor:
Opinion: That does explain a bit, as the story felt like it was changing out of nowhere in a bad way. Copeland and Balor’s feud was thrown together literally just minutes after balor was introduced to the team. That is not going to leave them much room to do anything and it made for a rushed story. Hopefully Copeland is happier in AEW, where stories do get some more time to develop.
