It Got Renewed: Update On WWE Bringing Back Major Gimmick Match Later This Year

Run it back? There are all kinds of specialty matches in wrestling, with some of them being set up for certain times of the year. You can probably guess when some of them are going to come up on WWE’s calendar as the company has certain traditions, but occasionally they will add in something new. That was the case last year, and now it seems that we are going to be seeing it again.

According to Fightful Select, WWE will be bringing back WarGames at this year’s Survivor Series on November 25. The match will be returning despite the show not having the WarGames subtitle in the match’s inaugural main roster appearance. There is no word on whether there will be a men’s and women’s edition of the match as there was last year, but the men’s version is said to be on the table. While the whole lineup is not set, the Judgment Day is expected to be involved.

Opinion: I don’t think this is the biggest surprise as WarGames has become the November tradition, either in NXT or WWE. This time around WWE has the kind of lineups that will suit the match well and now I’m curious to see just how the match, or matches, go this year. For now, it should make for an interesting build over the next month and a half, as it should make for a good showdown.
