Things just keep getting worse. It has been a rough few months for WWE as one bad piece of news keeps coming in after another. First there was the Coronavirus pandemic and then SpeakOut started up, leaving WWE to take hit after hit. Both situations have far more important victims than WWE, and now one person involved nearly got himself in a lot more trouble all over again.
One of the biggest WWE names to be mentioned in the SpeakOut movement has been the Velveteen Dream, who has been accused of having a variety of inappropriate conversations with minors. While nothing has been confirmed as of yet and WWE has not made any comment on the situation, it is not clear if Dream will be back on WWE television. It turns out that was almost the case for an entirely different reason.
Over the weekend, Dream was involved in a car accident, requiring him to be hospitalized and released. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Dream ran a red light at around 4pm on Friday and hit another car. The driver of the other car sustained some injuries but their extent is unknown. Dream was given a citation for the incident but will not be required to appear in court.
The situation could have been worse. Check out some other wrestlers getting in some legal issues:
Opinion: I’m not sure how much worse it can get for Dream at the moment and I’m also not sure how much longer it is going to be before he is appearing on television again. The car issue is one thing but the SpeakOut allegations are another level of serious. That is the kind of thing that could end someone’s career in an instant, which really should be the case if the allegations wind up being true. Hopefully they aren’t, but they do sound rather serious.
Will Dream wrestle again? Will WWE release him? Let us know in the comments below.
