HE’S back??? One of the biggest surprises this week was the return of Mauro Ranallo to WWE as he became the new play by play announcer for “NXT”. This comes after months away from the company, reportedly due to issues with fellow commentator John Bradshaw Layfield. Ranallo’s return was a surprise but now we have a few more details on why he was brought back in.
According to “Wrestling Observer Radio” by way of 411mania.com, Ranallo was brought back into the company due to WWE not wanting him talking about what happened to him in his first tenure, as well as him being a good commentator. Putting him in NXT lets Ranallo be away from the main roster pressures that seemed to cause the issues in his first run. Ranallo is also working on a multi-year deal to be the voice of NXT.
Opinion: Ranallo’s name has been in the news a lot lately as he was recently given the job of calling the upcoming superfight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGreggor. There’s always the chance that WWE signed him again for the sake of getting in on that publicity and if I just have to live with Ranallo’s commentary for that reason, so be it.
Are you glad Ranallo is back? Do you think he’ll ever wind up on the main roster again? Let us know in the comments below.
