Not just WWE. Wrestling gets a lot of flack from mainstream entertainment. As Roddy Piper once said, “When I was wrestling they said I was an actor and when I was acting they said I was a wrestler.” This has been the case for a long time, but with wrestling becoming a little more accepted as a form of entertainment, wrestlers are becoming a bit more accessible, including ones who don’t wrestle anymore.
According to Ringsidenews.com, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi will be one of fifty entertainment experts featured on the upcoming CBS talent show The World’s Best. The show will feature three main judges and a group of fifty judges from various fields of entertainment. The World’s Best will debut on Sunday February 3 at around 10pm, serving as the follow up show for the Super Bowl.
He’s good at multiple things. Check out Rikishi’s wrestling and dancing:
Opinion: I’m not sure how well the show is going to be and Rikishi isn’t going to get a ton of time to shine as he’s just one of fifty, but it’s cool to see him getting a chance like this. Just let him see what he can do has he can be entertaining in a variety of ways. Rikishi had a lot of skills during his long wrestling career and hopefully he gets to showcase some of those abilities on the show.
What did you think of Rikishi? Who will be the next wrestler to become a mainstream star? Let us know in the comments below.
