Homecoming? There are certain stars in WWE history who have become legends in their own time. These are often the biggest names WWE has ever had to offer and some of them have even gone on to become the face of the company. Having one of them around can be a game changer, so it means quite a bit for WWE to get to announce one of them making a special return.

This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE announced that John Cena will be making an appearance on the September 1 edition of SmackDown. This will mark Cena’s first appearance in WWE since a surprise cameo at Money In The Bank in July. There is no word on what Cena will be doing on the show. In addition, Cena will be wrestling at the Superstar Spectacle on September 8 in Hyderabad, India.

Opinion: While his most recent appearances have not been as well received, there is something to be said about having Cena around, even for a one off appearances, that feels special. He’s one of the biggest stars of all time and now he will be getting to do something on a random SmackDown. That isn’t a bad thing and hopefully he gets to work with someone interesting in some way.
