Woo indeed. One of the biggest moves of last week’s Superstar Shakeup saw Charlotte move over to “Smackdown Live” to head up its women’s division. Charlotte instantly became the top star on the blue show, but it might be interesting to see what she thought of the move. As luck would have it, we can now do just that.
Charlotte recently spoke about the move with the Sporting News. Here are a few highlights.
On her initial thoughts:
“I can’t speak for the other women on ‘Raw’ or ‘SmackDown’ but I know, for myself, personally, the minute I left ‘Raw’ Monday night I said to myself ‘SmackDown’ is the women’s division that you’re gonna want to be on. That’s my mindset. Yes, competition is in full effect because that’s kind of the point of having two brands.”
As for being reunited with best friend Becky Lynch:
And on how she knew she belonged in WWE.
“I had a couple of singles matches and I still wasn’t sure of myself. I wasn’t even sure if they were doing the right thing. I was just extremely nervous and Nattie just looked at me and said, ‘let’s do this’. Then when I won the title, it gave me the confidence that I needed. That’s when I knew I was doing the right thing and I belonged but in terms of a performer, even when I got on the main roster and had the run as a babyface when I first started with Nikki Bella, I was still like ‘I gotta get better, I gotta get better’. But I would say when I was with Nattie is when I thought this is where I belong.”

Opinion: Charlotte only started wrestling five years ago and she’s already on the short list of all time greats. She comes off like someone who knows she’s better than anyone else, looks like she was carved out of a rock and is one of the most athletic performers in the company today. Charlotte is going to be a big deal in WWE as long as she wants to be, which hopefully is for a very long time.
