Well that’s overwhelming. This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw ended with a big angle as Vince McMahon announced that Becky Lynch was suspended for sixty days with Charlotte taking her place in the main event of WrestleMania 35. It was quite the change of pace and not something that a lot of fans would be happy about. However, I don’t think WWE thought it would be this bad.
According to 411mania.com, the YouTube video of Charlotte being announced as the replacement has broken the record for the most disliked video WWE has ever uploaded. In just over twenty four hours, the video has been disliked 60,000 times, shattering the record previously held by Roman Reigns’ promo saying that WWE is his yard now, which has gained 38,000 dislikes in nearly two years.
This one doesn’t look so bad anymore. Check out the incredible crowd reaction to Reigns:
And in with the new. Check out Charlotte’s rather hated announcement:
Opinion: Was it really that bad? The whole point of something like this is to get people to boo Charlotte but it wasn’t all that terrible of a moment. To be fair though, I think the reaction is much more pro-Lynch and less anti-Charlotte, though there are certainly elements of both here. That’s an incredibly negative reaction though, and I’d assume it’s exactly what WWE wanted.
Which moment was worse? Was the Charlotte announcement that bad? Let us know in the comments below.
