You had to give them something. This week’s Monday Night Raw ended with a pretty hard shot to the heart. The last thing seen on the show was Vince McMahon suspending Becky Lynch for sixty days, which would put her out of the WrestleMania 35 main event. She was then replaced by Charlotte, who seems to have gone full evil as a result. Something had to be done to send the fans home happy, and that’s what happened.
It wasn’t quite over. Check out what happened after Monday Night Raw went off the air:
WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube page, showing Lynch and Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey arguing after the show went off the air. They were interrupted by the Riott Squad, who said they weren’t interested in seeing the two of them fight again. The Squad surrounded the ring but Rousey and Lynch beat them up without too much effort to end the evening.
Opinion: It’s not like they had another option. The fans were a good bit deflated by the way the show ended so it made a lot of sense to do something like this. The Squad isn’t going to be hurt by getting beaten up by two of the top stars in the division. This was a fine way to end the night and at least the fans got to see their heroes standing tall. WWE didn’t have another choice here so the ending worked well enough.
