That’s a scary situation. There is an old statement that wrestling ain’t ballet. As professionally trained as these wrestlers are, there is no way to guarantee that everything they do is safe. They can make the spots safer, but that doesn’t make things completely perfect. That was the case on Sunday night and one of the bigger stars outside of WWE had things go very wrong.
According to PWInsider.com, Brian Cage was injured about three minutes into his Impact Wrestling World Title match against Johnny Impact at Rebellion. The injury came when Impact gave Cage a Spanish Fly off the ramp and onto the floor. Cage finished the match and was attacked post match, but had trouble walking backstage and was taken to the emergency room. There is no word on his diagnosis or if he will be missing any ring time. Impact Wrestling mentioned the injury after the show:
BREAKING: @MrGMSI_BCage has been rushed to the emergency room after his match with @TheRealMorrison. More updates to come.

I won’t show any clips of the match for the sake of avoiding spoilers. Check out this promo from Cage about wanting the World Title:
Opinion: You mean being backflipped off of a stage and down onto a hard floor isn’t the safest thing in the world? Hopefully this isn’t anything too bad and Cage was taken in for a precaution more than anything else. The fact that he can walk and move his limbs is a great sign but you never know what might be going on under the surface. Cage is a valuable commodity, but any injury to a star of any level is a bad thing.
Do you like Cage? Can you ever imagine him back in WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
