Someone has to do it. We are coming up on what is going to be the most unique Money in the Bank ladder match of all time. This year, it is going to be two matches at once as the men and women are fighting at the same time, in the same building. Yes building, because this match is all about climbing up from the ground floor to the top of Titan Tower and retrieving the briefcases. With less than a week to go, there was a spot left and now it has been filled.
Last week on Monday Night Raw, Apollo Crews challenged Andrade for the United States Title. Crews injured his knee during the match though, meaning that he would be forced out of the Money in the Bank ladder match. This was quite the blow for him personally, but it was a huge opportunity for someone else. That spot was filled on the following Monday Night Raw in a big way.
AJ Styles returned on this week’s Monday Night Raw and won a gauntlet match to become the final entrant to the ladder match. Styles was the surprise eighth entrant and last eliminated Humberto Carrillo to win. He joins Rey Mysterio, Aleister Black, Otis, Daniel Bryan and King Corbin. This was Styles’ first appearance since WrestleMania 36 when the Undertaker defeated him in a Boneyard match.
Styles has a history in big matches. Check out some of his moments:

Opinion: Styles is as good of a choice as you can have here as Monday Night Raw is rather thin at the main event level. Maybe they can change a few things up with fresh talent in the ladder match, but there are only so many things that can be done immediately. There is nothing wrong with throwing in an established main eventer though and that’s one of the perks of having the incredible roster depth WWE has these days.
