Hang on we’re not done yet. As you may have seen, earlier tonight Shinsuke Nakamura defeated John Cena completely clean in the middle of the ring to become #1 contender for the Smackdown World Title. Cena left Nakamura to pose in the ring after the match but things weren’t quite through yet.

As seen on the beginning of “205 Live”, Baron Corbin ran out and attacked Nakamura after “Smackdown Live” went off the air. Cena ran back in for the save and put Corbin through the announcers’ table with an Attitude Adjustment. While not announced, there’s a good chance that this will set up Corbin vs. Cena for “Summerslam 2017”.  Here’s a video of the segment from WWE’s Twitter:

Opinion: While this seems to just be setting up a showdown at “Summerslam 2017”, it also feels like the setup for a potential Money in the Bank cash-in later in the night. Corbin and Nakamura already have unfinished business and it would make sense to have Corbin cash-in the briefcase to take the title, setting up another match between the two down the line.
