Keep em coming. We’re rapidly approaching this weekend’s Stomping Grounds event and that means most of the card should already be set up. That is indeed the case, but there is still time to set things up as we get closer to the show. Some of the matches yet to be set up include title matches, though one of those was taken care of by the end of this week’s major television.
This week on SmackDown Live, it was announced that Daniel Bryan and Rowan will be defending the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Heavy Machinery at Stomping Grounds. Heavy Machinery had challenged for the titles earlier in the month but no title match was ever made official. This will be Bryan and Rowan’s first televised title defense since winning the titles in early May.
The challenge has been out there. Check out Heavy Machinery announcing that they want the titles:
Opinion: I know it might not be the most interesting match in the world, but this is the kind of thing that needs to be added to the card to flesh it out a little bit. There’s a story here (though I could have gone for more of Heavy Machinery’s steaks vs. Bryan and Rowan’s veganism) and there’s nothing wrong with adding in a match like this to give the card something else.
Who do you think wins the match? What is next for both teams? Let us know in the comments below.
