That is some bad timing. A wrestler being injured is one of the few universal problems in wrestling. Anyone can get hurt at any time in wrestling and you never know when an injury might take place. Possibly the worst part about them though is you never know how long they could put someone on the shelf. At the moment, an injury could be costing us a pretty big match in the near future.
According to F4Wonline.com, NXT Champion Adam Cole is injured and has not wrestled a match in several weeks. He has been seen with a cast on his wrist, though there is no word on the severity of his injury. Cole is currently scheduled to defend the NXT Title against Matt Riddle this coming Wednesday on NXT, though he did suffer a storyline injury on this week’s episode, which may serve as a way out of the match.
WWE has acknowledged Cole’s injury. Check out their official report:
Opinion: This doesn’t look good as Cole’s title defense looks to be in jeopardy. Assuming he can’t wrestle, I really hope this isn’t the start of NXT running a bunch of baits and switches. WWE has a bad habit of such a thing and I don’t want to see it taking place in NXT as well. That doesn’t help anyone and is only going to make NXT look weaker than it should.
