There’s still time for this to work. We’re rapidly approaching Takeover: XXV and that was never more obvious than this Wednesday. This week on NXT, three of what will likely be five matches were set for the show as NXT rapidly picks up the pace towards the event. However, with the entire card seemingly set, one rather important name isn’t at the peak of health.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT Champion Johnny Gargano is currently out of action with a knee injury, which has left him on the shelf for the last few weeks. At the moment, it appears that Gargano will be healthy in time for Takeover: XXV on June 1. Gargano is scheduled to defend his NXT Championship against Adam Cole in a rematch from Takeover; New York.
This is how you get ready. Check out Gargano and Cole preparing for their first match:
Opinion: It seems that Gargano is going to be fine in time for the match but that’s a very scary thing to hear so close to a major show. We’re still coming off Tommaso Ciampa’s neck injury which put him on the shelf long enough to warrant the title being vacated so having it happen again would be a nightmare. Hopefully Gargano is fine enough to defend the title, as NXT’s taping schedule would allow him some extra time off.
