They had something to say. AEW has done rather well in the first few years of its existence, growing from nothing into the second biggest wrestling promotion in the United States. That has taken a lot of work, but it does not mean that everything is going perfectly behind the scenes. There are some other issues to deal with in AEW and a lot of those were on the table this week.
According to Fightful Select, AEW President Tony Khan held a talent meeting before this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. Khan planned to address various behind the scenes issues, including the issue between Hangman Page and CM Punk from last week’s show. Khan was said to be “fired up” at the meeting and talked about how AEW had new structures in place, including expansions of talent relations and developmental divisions to help the roster.
Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks also said they were available to talk to anyone who needed to do so. Chris Jericho and Tony Schiavone also spoke at the meeting, but it is not clear what they said. In addition, AEW Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh sent WWE a message, telling WWE CEO’s Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon to stop tampering with their talent. There is no word on any WWE response to the statement.
Opinion: This is one of those things that AEW is going to have to do at some point and it is good to see them getting something done. I’m not sure how much this is going to solve, but at least the company, and Khan in particular, are trying to take care of things. AEW is becoming a bigger company and that means they are going to have to put in a lot more effort to address the problems.
