Better late than never. As we come closer and closer to the Royal Rumble, we’re in the need of some more matches being added to the card. On a card this big, there are mainly going to be title matches aside from the Royal Rumbles and most of those are already set up. However there is at least one more big one left to go, which was all taken care of on Wednesday night.
This week on 205 Live, Hideo Itami defeated Cedric Alexander to claim the final spot in the four way Cruiserweight Title match at the Royal Rumble. Itami joins fellow challengers Kalisto and Akira Tozawa, both of whom won their qualifying matches on last week’s show. The three of them will challenge Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy for the title in a match announced two weeks ago.
So how did we get there? Check out Itami vs. Alexander from this week’s 205 Live:
Opinion: This works as well as anything else. There isn’t anyone on the roster at the moment who could be an interesting challenger to Murphy at the moment so throwing three of them together in one match is as good of an idea as they have right now. You could have any of the four walk out of the title match as champion and that’s a great issue to have for something like this.
