It happened to a lot of people. As you have probably heard about by now, WWE either fired or furloughed a lot of people back on April 15. This was not the most well received move in the world given WWE’s current financial status but a business is going to do something like this from time to time. They certainly did it here, and now we know one more name who was added to the list.

Commentary is one of the most important parts of any wrestling company. A good commentator can walk you through a match and point you in the direction the company is looking for. They can tell you why someone is doing something and even tie in the history where applicable. An excellent one is hard to find and now we might be without one of the better ones for the time being.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT commentator Nigel McGuinness was one of the many names furloughed on April 15, though his name was not mentioned since then. McGuinness regularly does commentary on NXT, among other shows under the WWE umbrella. As he was furloughed and not fired or released, he will likely be back when the situation is back to normal.

McGuinness was and is awesome. Check out some of his story:

Opinion: The furloughed part is a nice relief here as McGuinness is one of the best commentators in wrestling today. He offers one of the best combinations of wit and knowledge that you will find and it makes him very easy to listen to. It’s the kind of job he could do for years and hopefully he is brought back into the fold a lot sooner rather than later.

What do you think of McGuinness? Who is the best commentator today? Let us know in the comments below.
