As the title says, the playing field is shifting. Wrestlers throughout the world are being signed and released all over the place. With AEW Double or Nothing creating an immediate impact on the wrestling scene, it seems the opportunities for professional wrestlers are more plentiful than they have been in many years.
The latest wrestler to leave Impact Wrestling is former Impact World Champion Eli Drake. The 36-year-old star took to his Twitter account to reveal he and Impact have parted ways. As of today, the former TNA King of the Mountain Champion explains, he is a free agent.

This departure seemed inevitable, given that Drake had reportedly been fired from the promotion by an email back on April 7. This was due to Drake refusing to compete in an intergender match against Tessa Blanchard at United We Stand.
To make matters worse, even after being fired by email, it was reported that Impact was attempting to lock Drake in a year-long no-compete clause due to a breach of contract. Obviously, now that we see Drake is a free agent, that seems to no longer be an issue between the two parties.
Eli Drake has a large list of places he could go, provided the companies are interested in him. From WWE to AEW, ROH to NJPW among others, Drake is sure to find his place in the wrestling industry now that he has finally closed this chapter of his career.
Are you a fan of Drake? Where, if anywhere, do you see him going?
