That would have been embarrassing. Double Or Nothing completely ignited the wrestling world in a way that hasn’t been the case for a very long time now. That included a Casino Battle Royal where the fans were allowed to get to know a lot of the roster at once. As it turns out, there was another big name ready to compete on the show and another company had to stop it.

According to PWInsider.com, Impact Wrestling World Champion Brian Cage was ready to compete in the Casino Battle Royal at Double Or Nothing but Impact Wrestling contacted him and said he was not allowed to do so. This would have been a major problem for Impact Wrestling as Cage is currently out of action on their show due to an injury sustained at Rebellion. There is no word on who replaced Cage in the match.

Cage would have been quite the wild card. Check out what he’s capable of doing when healthy:

Opinion: This could have been a disaster for Impact Wrestling, especially if they had to release or punish Cage, who has yet to wrestle after winning the World Title. Impact Wrestling, among other companies, is already going to be in trouble with AEW on the rise and having one of their top talents showing up on the other company’s show would have made things even worse. They dodged a bullet here, but it could have been interesting to see what would happen if they hadn’t.

How bad would it have been if Cage had worked Double Or Nothing? Is Impact Wrestling in trouble thanks to AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
