Bray Wyatt has become known for his finishing move Sister Abigail, a swinging reverse STO that typically involves the theatrical touches of a long look at the audience and a kiss to the top of his foe’s head. However, you may be surprised to learn that this move hasn’t been in his repertoire since the beginning of his career.
In fact, he wasn’t even the one who came up with the idea to use the swinging reverse STO as his finisher. It was suggested to him by WWE producer Joey Mercury.

“Actually a good comrade of mine, Joey Mercury, introduced me to the move,” Wyatt said in an interview with WTOP. “I obviously put my own spin on it and took it from where it was to where it is now. There’s no long details on that, it’s just something that was really fitting for me.”
Other wrestlers such as Fandango and Baron Corbin have used the swinging reverse STO in their matches, but Wyatt is the one who popularized it and made it his own. It’s crazy to think that if Joey Mercury had never planted the thought in his head, Wyatt’s character and in-ring performance would be a lot different.
