They’re the next generation.

In case you missed Total Nonstop Deletion, you didn’t see the debut of Matt Hardy’s son King Maxel, who defeated former two time X-Division Champion Rockstar Spud in a match. It should be noted that Maxel is only about a year and a half old and the match was under No DQ rules.

What you might not know is that this has been done before, albeit unofficially. Back in May 2008, Kevin Steen (now known as Kevin Owens) was in the ring at a Pro Wrestling Guerilla show when another wrestler named Excalibur started calling Steen’s five month old son ugly. That earned Excalibur three consecutive package piledrivers, followed by Steen’s son being put on top for the pin, counted by El Generico (Sami Zayn).

This of course brings up the obvious questions: which of these rookies has the brighter future and who do you have in a match between them? Both have great performers for fathers and Steen’s son has the age, so I’ll have to take him. Maxel may have the youth and probably the speed advantage, but I’m an old WWF fan so I have to take the size and power.

Do you have a problem with kids so young being used in situations like this one? Which “match” did you think was more entertaining? Let us know in the comments below.
