On Thursday, Wrestling Rumors reported that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon informed those on an investors conference that “WWE Tough Enough” would be making its return, but this time on the WWE Network as opposed to cable. No further details were given other than its name being dropped.
PWInsider.com is reporting that this upcoming season of the show, which has set no date for filming as of yet, may be different than past seasons. Unlike the revival season in 2011, the site reports that the WWE Performance Center in Tampa, Fla. may be the filming location of the show.
Alongside this, the premise may be a little different. Whereas in the past the show has taken submissions from people outside of the company to participate in the program, it may this time be focused on those in WWE developmental who are not getting any television time on NXT. This is still speculation at this point, however.
Bill DeMott, who served as a trainer for the last season of the show, tweeted the following after hearing the news:

Editor’s Note:
It may be a smart decision to change the premise a bit, as no true megastars have come out of the program. Last season’s winner, Andy Leavine, flopped majorly in WWE and didn’t last long at all.
