Update 2/14 – An editorial on WWE.com, featuring the “10 Most Viscous Moments” in Elimination Chamber history, briefly mentions that two Chamber matches are still planned for this Sunday’s pay-per-view. The article was published on Tuesday, the 12th, and it is possible the writer made an honest mistake based on assumptions or inaccurate information, which has simply not been corrected yet.
It looks like the rumored “War Games” style match between John Cena, Sheamus, Ryback and The Shield is not going to be taking place this Sunday at WWE’s Elimination Chamber PPV, reports PWInsider.com.
Ryback had tweeted yesterday that the six-man tag match would take place “in the chamber”. That tweet, seen below, has now been changed and makes no reference to an actual chamber match. This isn’t the first time a WWE superstar has been forced to change or delete a tweet.
As things sit, the number one contendership match for the World Heavyweight Title is the only bout set to be held inside the chamber structure. That makes this year’s event the first to feature only one chamber match since the pay per view was branded into its own identity in 2010.
