‘Grand Theft Auto’ developer Take-Two Interactive have been confirmed as the new developers of future WWE video game titles, after the bankruptcy of former developer, THQ, earlier this year.

The deal between Take-Two, WWE and Yukes will save the company mullions in damages claims, according to court documents. It’s thought both WWE and Yukes were looking to claim in the region of $30 million in damages from THQ.

The new deal will see Take-Two hire THQ’s previous employees to work on future WWE games releases, which will likely be released under Take-Two’s ‘2K Sports’ brand.

There is no word yet on the development of this years release – it had been rumored that Take Two have not acquired the code involved in developing the game nor the game engine, which would mean significant development time and possibly push this years release into 2014.
