ProWrestling.net is reporting that WWE has held tryouts for several top Ring of Honor stars to determine if they want to sign them to the NXT developmental system.
Kevin Steen, Roderick Strong and ACH are all said to have had sessions with the recruiting crew at the WWE Performance Center, which are said to have generally gone well. However, there was reportedly one standout.
Steen is said to have very much impressed the WWE upper brass. He reportedly lost a solid amount of weight, and looked good during the conditioning and endurance drills. His contract expires with Ring of Honor in June, and while it is said that he is open to free agent appearances, he is unlikely to re-sign full time.
The report also notes that WWE typically notifies those who try out within four-to-six months of doing so. The American Wolves had a well-publicized tryout with the company last year and even got TV time on NXT, but were let go and eventually signed with TNA.
