Several weeks ago, NXT Champion Kevin Owens shocked the world when he made his main roster debut with WWE, laying out John Cena with a pop-up powerbomb and making an impact. This would lead to a match between the two at the “Elimination Chamber” pay-per-view, where for just the 10th time in a decade, Cena was defeated cleanly. This coming in Owens’ debut match, nonetheless.
It was then revealed Owens would be transitioning to the main roster full-time, with him being set to drop the NXT Championship in the near-future. Many have speculated this will come during the July 4 live event taping from Japan, where he will defend the belt against Finn Bálor.
But even as he heads into his rematch with Cena at “Money in the Bank,” it appears not all are sold on Owens. Former WWE and WCW Champion Kevin Nash took to Twitter Monday night to take a jab at Owens:

This provoked a response from Dave Meltzer, editor of The Wrestling Observer. He noted how Nash has been plagued by old booking and look stereotypes, calling out the former star.

Above all else though, Owens himself took note of the Tweet. Following “RAW,” he sent a message back at Nash, seemingly putting Nash in poor light:

Nash would then comment on Twitter about the ordeal, saying he was a fan of Owens. He did not respond to the other tweets sent his way.

Many will recall, Nash was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this past year. This interaction between a WWE Hall of Famer and one of its true up-and-coming stars likely did not set well with many within the company.
Editor’s Note
The people who don’t see money in Owens baffle me. His look is non-traditional, but he has all the pieces to become an elite superstar in the business. Heck, he already is.
