After months of speculation WWE have tonight confirmed their plans for John Cena and The Rock to again headline WrestleMania for the second year in a row. John Cena confirmed his place in the showpiece main event by winning the Royal Rumble back in January, however despite speculation online it was still unclear as to who his opponent would be.

By defeating CM Punk at the Elimination Chamber and retaining his WWE Championship, The Rock has confirmed his place in the card and it is now official – on Sunday April 7th, The Rock will take on John Cena at WrestleMania 29 for the WWE Championship.

Also during the Elimination Chamber PPV, Alberto del Rio retained the World Heavyweight Championship in his third encounter with the Big Show, since winning the title in a Last Man Standing match back in January. Jack Swagger would win the Elimination Chamber match, last pinning Randy Orton, to earn a title shot at WrestleMania.
