Bitter rivalries can exist across sports. And there may not be more passionate fans than hockey fans, whom help elevate those rivalries to intense levels. That is exactly what has happened with former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk.
Punk was featured by CSN Chicago in a video taken during Monday night’s Game 3 between the Tampa Bay Lightning and his hometown Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals. And he was not happy.
Last week, WWE legend Hulk Hogan commented on ESPN about the Stanley Cup Finals. The 61-year-old Hogan is an avid Lightning fan, and has been vocal in support of the team dating back to its last Stanley Cup victory in 2004. But his comment stirred a pot it would seem.
“Chicago’s in a lot of trouble,” Hogan said. “I’m going home this week, and I think I’m going to have a little talk with some of the Lightning guys. Chicago’s in a whole bunch of trouble, brother.”
Punk responded in the video Monday night to Hogan with some harsh words:
“Now normally, the less said about Hulk Hogan the better, but he spoke my name first. So I’d like to point out that the Tampa Bay organization as a whole should be embarrassed on for hitching their trail on such a piece of garbage…”
He would go on to make fun of Hogan for not knowing the name of the Lightning’s coach. The video can be found below.
Hogan then responded to Punk on Twitter not long after, calling out the UFC-bound star publicly.

This is not the first time Punk has gotten in a Twitter spat with someone under WWE contract. He and NXT star Hideo Itami have been going at it on social media, as Punk allegedly learned the “Go To Sleep” from Itami when he was in Japan under his KENTA moniker.
