AJ Lee Reportedly Takes Leave of Absence

Rumors have begun circulating about the whereabouts of AJ Lee after she was not seen on “Monday Night Raw” following dropping her Divas Championship to Paige the night after WrestleMania. However, F4WOnline.com’s Brian Alvarez may have offered some insights to her whereabouts.

Alvarez reported on the site’s message board.

“I believe AJ asked for some time off.”

This would run parallel to our report from Tuesday, where Lee was given the status of “TBD” on the “Raw” script. She did not appear on the episode, ultimately. Her fiancee, CM Punk, has not appeared on WWE television since January and was given the same status.

Many have speculated as to the reasoning for her absence, and a new Divas Championship No. 1 contender has already been named. It should be noted that Lee recently got engaged to Punk, and that there has been a belief that she would be moving to Chicago permanently with him.

Lee held the Divas Championship since last year’s “Payback” pay-per-view, ironically held in Chicago.

Editor’s Note

My speculation, and it is purely that, is that this is when she is moving to Chicago and asked for some time off to get settled. I hope that it is nothing more than that, as Lee has much to offer the company and is one of its most popular stars. Here’s hoping to a quick return, but at the same time, that she gets the time off that she needs.
